Our theme for our annual
assembly draws us around our quest for a joyful time of spiritual renewal.
Listening for God requires a spirit that has been trained to let go of carnal
voices and pay careful attention to God’s voice. Training is the key
discipline. Too often we want the spirit of God to look and sound like our
natural tendencies.
Do we really expect church to
be an experience of sisters and brothers coming in unity to God’s throne to
hear from Him? That requires that we lay down our selfish or dogmatic attitudes
and expect that God wants to speak something to us together. The skill of
hearing together is spiritual and not carnal.
Come prepared to experiment and learn how we can
grow as spiritual churches engaged in our common journey with God.
